THE RONIHOF
Hieronymus Rogg acquires land in Schluchsee together with his wife Maria Kettlerer and builds the traditional Black Forest farm "Ronihof" here.
It's the call of tradition. It's the call of invention. It's the call to get away. It's the call to come together.
Built in 1774 as a traditional Black Forest farm. Burnt down and rebuilt several times. The Auerhahn has a long history. The Tröndle family ran the house for a long time.
Hieronymus Rogg acquires land in Schluchsee together with his wife Maria Kettlerer and builds the traditional Black Forest farm "Ronihof" here.
Their son Johann Baptist takes over the farm together with his wife.
Their daughter, Karolina Rogg, was chosen from eight children to inherit the farm and, together with her husband Johann Bernauer, began to entertain guests at the Ronihof. The inn "zum Auerhahn" was opened.
The "Ronihof" was sold together with the inn "zum Auerhahn" to the Grand Ducal Forestry Office of St. Blasien.
The "Ronihof" and the adjoining restaurant "zum Auerhahn" are granted real hospitality rights.
The business name was officially changed to "Auerhahn".
In the early morning of December 5, the Auerhahn burned to the ground due to the absence of the tenants because of the war.
Due to the planned damming of the lake, the new Auerhahn was planned on the opposite side of the street from the former house.
The second generation of the "Ronihof", including the "Auerhahn" restaurant, was completed and opened on May 1st.
Construction of the reservoir wall was completed and the Schluchsee was dammed. The lake grew from a length of 3km and a depth of 15m to a length of 7.5km and a depth of 60m.
A new dining room was added to the "Auerhahn" restaurant.
Long-time tenant Fitz Stoll bought the Seehotel Auerhahn, which the hotel had grown into in recent years, together with his wife from the State Forestry Administration of Baden-Württemberg.
The Auerhahn burned to the ground again.
Meinrad Tröndle, the great-great-great-grandson of Hieronymus Rogg, acquired the ruins of the fire and brought the "Auerhahn" back into family ownership after more than 115 years.
The foundation stone for the new Auerhahn has been laid.
The Auerhahn was opened. The hotel had 25 double rooms, a restaurant and a small bar.
Planning began to extend and expand the Auerhahn.
The extensions to the Auerhahn opened. The hotel now offered 63 rooms and suites, a spacious lobby area, a bar, two lounges and a sauna area.

A pool area was added to the building. Another dining room, the Margaretensaal, was also added. Meinrad Tröndle named it after his wife Margret.
The pool area of the Auerhahn was renovated.
Their grandson Marius Tröndle took over the hotel business and the conversion work to the new Auerhahn began.
The winter garden, where the hotel bar is located, was added.
The new Auerhahn opens its doors for the first time in exactly 160 years.
